This is a oil painting on board. 24'' by 14''. I took the reference photo while fishing on Wabasis Lake near Grand Rapids, MI. I was really close to the Mother and her babies, probably less than 30 ft.I really enjoy nature and all it's creatures. I draw a lot of inspiration from my trips in the woods, along the rivers and streams, as well as on lakes. So, my subject matter is wildlife and the environment in which they live. I really enjoy scenes which include water. I work in oil, watercolor, color pencil and ink. I try to illustrate a story and not just reproduce a work that is a 'snapshot'. I hope you enjoy what I create.
